CM expresses dismay over Kejriwal not resigning

Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed dismay on Friday over the situation where Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, is headed to jail without resigning from his position. Yadav highlighted the precedent set by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who resigned before facing arrest in a money-laundering investigation.

Yadav emphasized the historical practice in India where accused individuals offer their resignations and refrain from resuming their duties until cleared of all charges. He cited examples ranging from Lal Bahadur Shastri to Lal Krishna Adani, noting how Adani promptly resigned from all roles, including Parliament, when falsely implicated in a case.

Expressing disappointment at Kejriwal’s situation, Yadav remarked that such eagerness to cling to power doesn’t befit him. He suggested that Kejriwal should have stepped down from his Chief Ministerial role.
