Minor’s rape in boarding school: SI among 2 held

In connection with an alleged rape case of an eight-year-old girl at a boarding school in Misrod, Bopal, two persons, including a Sub-Inspector (SI), have been arrested. A case was filed against three people, including the hostel warden, at the Misrod police station on April 30.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Maniraj Modi, the school director, and Sub-Inspector Prakash Singh Rajput, stationed at the Arera Hills police station in Bhopal. Maniraj Modi was apprehended late Monday night from his residence, while SI Rajput was detained on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shraddha Tiwari stated, “Two accused have been arrested in the minor girl rape case. Maniraj Modi was arrested based on the victim’s identification, her statement, and the FIR report. SI Rajput was apprehended for allegedly pressurizing and threatening the complainant (victim’s mother). Additional suspects in the case will also be arrested as the investigation progresses.”

Both accused were presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody. The officer mentioned that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
