Hyderabad, Dec 8 (UNI) The Telangana Legislative Assembly will meet on Saturday facilitating oath taking by the newly elected MLAs.
AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi will be the Pro-tem Speaker.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan will administer the oath to Owaisi at Raj Bhavan at 8.30 am
The Pro-tem Speaker serves a temporary role, officiating the Assembly session until the newly-elected members are sworn in and a Speaker is elected.
Owaisi has been elected to the Assembly for the sixth term recently, representing the Chandrayangutta onstituency since 1999.
After attending various review meetings on Friday ,Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy flew to New Delhi this afternoon to meet the AICC leadership, including Congress Parliamentary party president Sonia Gandhi and discuss different issues, including allocation of portfolios for Ministers, said a senior leader from Telangana Congress.
As the oath taking ceremony of newly elected MLAs was scheduled for Saturday, the Chief Minister is expected to return by tonight.
