Bhopal: Forty-three students of the Textiles Department, 35 students of Fashion & Lifestyle Department in the 2020-2024 batch of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), and 30 students of MFM Department in the 2022-2024 batch showcased their graduation projects. They displayed their creativity and innovation in a wonderful way. In a grand exhibition organized on this occasion, the students gave tangible form to their imaginations and showcased their talent in the fashion industry. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Kailas Rao, Director, School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal.
On this occasion, NIFT Director Lt. Col. Ashish Agarwal praised his designers and said, “Your graduation projects are testimony to your hard work and fruitful academic journey at NIFT. What you have achieved at the end of this phase of your academic life will definitely instill confidence in you and your abilities.” The “Tantu” program, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Latika Bhatt, CC of Textile Design, provides students with a variety of skills in the field of textile design. The program blends creativity and technical expertise, enabling students to create designs for everything from home furnishings to high fashion. The program focuses on both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Students learn traditional and contemporary techniques such as print design, weave design, and surface ornamentation.
This year, “Tantu” students worked closely with renowned industries such as United Colors of Benetton and Max Lifestyle. They created a variety of collections inspired by nature, culture, and international influences. The program teaches students not only design skills but also provides them with the business knowledge they need to succeed in the textile industry. An excellent program for students who are interested in pursuing a career in textile design. It provides them with all the skills they need to become creative and technically proficient designers.
