Dy CM Shukla directs swift recruitment in nursing

  • Medical Colleges to strengthen healthcare workforce

Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has directed immediate action to fill vacant posts in the nursing cadre through direct recruitment, along with required amendments in recruitment rules and prompt requisition to the selection board. He also instructed fast-tracking the hiring process for Pharmacist Grade-2, Eye Assistants, and OT Technicians.

During a comprehensive review of healthcare services, recruitment, and infrastructure, Shukla stressed the need for skilled manpower in medical colleges and called for proposals to allow outsourcing of skilled positions, currently limited to unskilled roles. He emphasized quality care through structured and timely planning.

He also proposed establishing a CTVS department in Gwalior and a Neonatology & Pediatrics unit in Indore, along with improved utilization of bond doctors via orientation at district levels.

Instructions were given to simplify and make Pharmacy Council registration processes more transparent and to equip HRP centers with consolidated maternal care facilities.

He reviewed the pending appointments of 600 AYUSH medical officers under the National Child Health Program and proposed deploying forensic experts in district hospitals.

Shukla also pushed for setting up Onco-Surgery departments in key medical colleges and timely execution of projects under PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM).
