Jammu, Nov 23 (UNI) Security Forces have neutralised Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, believed to be the mastermind of Dhangri attack, and also another militant in the ongoing gunfight in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
Official sources said that with the first light, Army along with police intensified the combat operation and heavily retaliated to the firing during the gunfight in Bajumal village of Kalakote.
Notably, on Wednesday, four Army personnel, including two officers, attained martyrdom while two sustained injuries in the operation.
In exchange of fire, one hard-core terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba along with another militant were killed.
The LeT terrorist is believed to be the mastermind of Dhangri terrorist attack.
Sources said that the LeT terrorist killed in an ensuing gunfight is identified as Quari and is a Pakistan National.
“He has been trained in Pakistan and Afghan Front and is a highly ranked terrorist leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba,” they said.
Sources added that he has been active in Rajouri-Poonch alongwith his group from past one year and is also believed to be mastermind of Dhangri and Kandi attacks in Rajouri district.
“He was sent to revive terrorism in the region and was an expert in IEDs, operating and hiding from caves and a trained sniper,” sources said.
Dhangri attack occurred on January 1 and 2 that resulted in six deaths and 14 others sustained injuries in separate incidents of shooting and firing.
