CBI arrests three including Regional Officer of CBFC in alleged bribery case

New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested three persons, including Regional Officer of Central Board of Film Certification, posted in Bangalore, in an alleged bribery case, the Central probe agency said on Wednesday.

A case was registered on the basis of a complaint against Prashant Kumara a Regional Officer and others including two private persons, identified as Prithvi Raj and Ravi, on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000, CBI said.

It was further alleged that the accused later reduced the bribe amount to Rs 12,000 for issuing of Censor Certificate by Regional Officer to rectify the minor issues related to cinema sub title of a movie which was directed & produced by the Complainant, CBI claimed.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 12,000 from the Complainant.

Search was conducted at the premises of Regional Officer which led to recovery of Rs 3 lakh, it added.
