Robbery in doctor’s house, cash, jewelry of Rs 1 cr looted

Bhopal: A case of robbery worth Rs 1 crore has come to light at a doctor’s house in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. On the night of April 8, armed miscreants entered the house of a doctor living in Shahpura, a posh colony of Bhopal, beat up the servant and the maid and looted precious gold and silver jewelery and cash. The doctor had gone out with the family. Police have detained three accused, including doctor’s minor servant, and recovered some items.

On Monday night, 4-5 miscreants entered the house of Dr. Anshul Singh, living in Shahpura Colony of Chunabhatti police station area, assaulted the servant and maid and committed robbery. All the miscreants were armed with weapons. The servants and maids were alone in the house.

The miscreants took away Rs 50 lakh cash and 20 tola gold jewelery from Dr Anshul’s house. In the case of robbery worth more than one crore, the police have taken three people into custody and recovered Rs 40 lakh. Their servant is also among the detained accused.

Police recover some cash from accused

The detained accused are notorious criminals. Cases are already registered against them. With the help of a servant, they committed the crime. After investigation, the police have recovered some cash, while some valuables are with other accused who are absconding. Their search is on.

Dr. Anshul is the brother of former Nagaur MLA and BJP MLA Yadvendra Singh. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology, LN Medical College and JK Hospital, Kolar Road and lives in Shahpura B Sector House No. 234. On the night of Monday 8th April, he had gone to Noor Sabah Hotel with his family to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. At 11.15 pm, armed miscreants entered the house, beat up the servant and vandalized the house.

Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra said that the police teams caught the accused in five hours. The minor servant had called miscreants from Mandideep for the crime. To make the incident seem legitimate, he got himself beaten up by his friends. The accused took away Rs 50 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewelery from the house.
