New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) As India commemorates the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Bollywood stars took to social media to honour the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War of 1999.
Akshay Kumar, known for his roles in various patriotic films, wrote on X (Twitter), “Kargil Vijay Diwas ke iss mauke par, humare sainikon ki himmat aur balidaan ko salaam. Unki veerta ki kahaniyan saal dar saal dohrai jayengi. Jai Hind! #KargilVijayDiwas” (On this occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, salute the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers. Stories of their bravery will be repeated year after year).
Sidharth Malhotra, whose film ‘Shershaah’ depicts the life of Captain Vikram Batra, shared a special video on Instagram. “Namaste. 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas mark a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, a testament to the unwavering bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers,” he said. Reflecting on his role in
‘Shershaah’, Malhotra added, “As we honour their courage, I am humbled to have portrayed the role of Captain Vikram Batra in the movie.

Vicky Kaushal, star of ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, posted an animated image on Instagram Stories showing soldiers waving the Indian flag atop a mountain peak. The image read, “Kargil Vijay Diwas. Saluting all our war heroes and their families.” Kaushal used the tricolour, red heart, and folded hands emoji to convey his respect.
Shikhar Pahariya, actress Janhvi Kapoor’s rumoured boyfriend, shared a photo of soldiers on his Stories, expressing, “They crushed our enemies and our sorrow, They gave up their today for our tomorrow, They wore a smile and laid down their lives, A salute to our gallant soldiers and their sacrifice, Kargil Vijay Diwas.”
Suniel Shetty posted a picture from his movie ‘LOC Kargil’, which also featured Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sanjay Dutt, among others.
