Lok Sabha Speaker Birla says – Even if there are differences, do not let functioning of legislature be hampered

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that the legislature is an important platform for serious debate and discussion, and differences of opinion should not be allowed to hamper the functioning of the Assembly.
It is the responsibility of every MLA to ensure that the time of legislative bodies is utilized meaningfully for the welfare of the public. Lack of discipline and decency in legislatures and indecent conduct of members reduces the dignity of the legislature, which has a negative impact on democracy. Every public representative is the protector of the hopes and aspirations of the nation. The public trusts the public representatives for their better future. Lok Sabha Speaker Birla was addressing the inaugural session of a two-day enlightenment program organized for the assembly members in Madhya Pradesh Assembly. Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar and ministers were present in the program.
It is necessary to know the rules and procedures of the Assembly: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that the mandate given to the newly elected MLAs from the people of Madhya Pradesh has given them the responsibility of making constructive efforts for the social and economic progress, especially of women and weaker sections. To do full justice to their role as MLAs and public representatives, it is necessary for MLAs to be aware of the rules of the Constitution. Referring to the action taken towards making the Parliament paperless, Barla said that the Parliament of India is the leader in the world in digitalization.
MLAs should show enthusiasm while presenting their views, but keep anger under control
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar said that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has enriched the parliamentary tradition as well as strengthened the roots of democracy through the effective functioning of the Lok Sabha. He also has the honor of establishing many new dimensions in the Lok Sabha. It is expected that the prestige of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly will increase in the entire country due to the dignified members of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It is necessary for the MLAs to show their enthusiasm while presenting their views, but their anger should be completely under control. Tomar said that there is enough platform available in the Assembly to express one’s views. This program of enlightenment and training will prove to be effective in making the MLAs familiar with the rules, traditions and prevailing systems of the Assembly and this program will prove useful to the MLAs for their entire tenure.
