- Signs MoU with Solan, Himachal Pradesh

NITTTR Bhopal has added a new dimension by signing an MoU with supercapacitor manufacturing industry, Cassandra Microelectronics, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. NITTTR Director Prof CC Tripathi stated that battery and capacitor together are made of a super capacitor, which charges quickly and lasts long. The batteries that we use, whether it is mobile phones or vehicles, get charged slowly and finish charging soon. Due to this one has to face a lot of trouble. The specialty of a super capacitor is that it will charge quickly and last long. A capacitor is a device that can store charge inside itself and also recharged when needed. Supercapacitors now used in applications requiring multiple fast charge/discharge cycles rather than long term compact energy storage. In automobiles, buses, trains, cranes and elevators, where it is used for regenerative braking, fast charge. Compared to the longer charging time of the battery, covering more space, the supercapacitor has a longer life and stores almost a hundred times the energy as compared to the ordinary capacitor. It is noteworthy that NITTTR is going to start a skilling center for Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) in Bhopal. All types of training related to the semiconductor industry will be provided in this center. So that skilled manpower can be prepared in this area. Capabilities like assembly, testing, marking and packaging will be developed in this Centre. Through this MoU, NITTTR Bhopal will also focus the work of packaging super capacitors.
