- AIIMS inventors get patent for oral physiotherapy device

In a major achievement, Dr. Anshul Rai, Additional Professor, AIIMS Bhopal, Dr. Anuj Jain and Dr. Amit Singh, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Prosthodontist respectively, have been granted a patent by the Government of India for their innovative oral physiotherapy device work.
This patented mouth opening device, designed for effective physiotherapy exercises after surgery, addresses the challenges faced by patients with reduced mouth opening, such as conditions such as oral submucous fibrosis and temporomandibular joint ankylosis, in January 2019 the application started and now got official approval in December 2023. This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of the inventors, Dr. Anshul Rai, currently Associate Professor at AIIMS Bhopal, and Dr. Anuj Jain and Dr. Amit Singh. This device has the potential to significantly improve the quality of life of individuals recovering from surgery, providing a tailored solution for those with restrictions on opening their mouth.
