Leopard falls into well in Sailana, rescued

  • Once again, there was a stir due to presence of leopard

There was commotion in a village in this area when a youth who had gone to graze cattle got information about the presence of a leopard in the well in the field of farmer Omkar Muniya of village Ambakudi of Janpad Panchayat. On receiving the information, Saravan police station in-charge Neelam Chaughad reached the spot along with the staff and informed the forest department, Sailana. During this time, DFO Dhyan Singh Nigwal from Sailana Forest Department and Ratlam also reached the spot with the team and started the rescue operation by placing a rooster in the well and taking down the cage. After four hours of hard work, the rescue team got success and the leopard came into the cage. It is noteworthy that these days many leopards have been seen from time to time in the tribal areas of Sailana, Bajna and Rawati of the district.
