Mamata demands resignation of Bengal Guv over alleged molestation charge

Kolkata, May 11 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday demanded resignation of Governor C V Ananda Bose in the backdrop of alleged molestation charge, and stated that she would not visit Raj Bhavan henceforth.

“The Governor must explain why he should not resign, ” Banerrjee asked whilst electioneering at Saptagram in Hooghly district for TMC candidate Rachana Banerjee.

Banerjee claimed she watched the entire video and its contents are shocking and added she will not visit Raj Bhavan till the present Governor remains there.

The TMC supremo’s utterance happened a few days after the Raj Bhavan showed CCTV footage of the premises to around 100 people.

The Gubernatorial office, however, banned the showing to “politician” Mamata Banerjee and the Police.

On May 2, the Governor was accused of molestation of a contractual employee in the Raj Bhavan and the following day Kolkata Police set up a probe team to investigate the allegation.

However, the Governor office banned the entry of the Kolkata Police and asked the Raj Bhavan staff not to cooperate with the city police.
