Congress suffers jolt as its Bihar spokesman Vinod Sharma resigns

Patna, May 11 (UNI) Bihar Congress suffered a major jolt as its state spokesman and senior leader Vinod Sharma on Saturday resigned from primary membership of the party.

Sharma sent his resignation letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Incidentally, Kharge has arrived on a one-day visit to Bihar to campaign in favour of INDIA bloc candidates for the ongoing Lok Sabha election.

After resigning as spokesman, Sharma said that Congress had deviated from its principles and party was going in the direction to usher in “Jungle Raj”-2 in Bihar as it had yielded before RJD. Congress was also not serious about the real issues of people, he alleged.

” I am deeply pained over the fact that Congress has taken stand against the public sentiments on Ram temple issue”, Sharma said adding that party was also taking stand against spirit of nationalism.

Under these circumstances, it was difficult for him to continue in the Congress party, he asserted.
