Patna, May 11 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ignoring real issues during his campaign and predicted that he would not become the PM again after the ongoing Lok Sabha election.
Kharge told media persons here that Modi had assured to give two crores jobs to youths every year in 2014 and as such twenty crores jobs should have been given. It was surprising that PM was not talking about jobs in his campaign, he pointed out.
” Similarly, price rise and inflation had also increased sharply but no one heard even a single word from Modi on these issues so far in his campaign”, the Congress president said, adding that Prime Minister was also not seen listing his achievements and instead he was indulged in raising irrelevant issues and trying to divide the society on communal lines.
Opposition leaders were being harassed by Narendra Modi government by misusing its agencies like CBI, ED and Income Tax against them, he alleged.
Kharge responding to a query of media persons said that INDIA bloc, if it forms the government would withdraw cases lodged against opposition leaders by central agencies due to political vendetta. If merit was found in any particular case, it would be allowed to continue as usual, he maintained.
The AICC President, while responding to another query, said that top leaders of INDIA bloc would decide the PM candidate if it was voted to power after ongoing Lok Sabha election. ‘Deciding PM candidate would not become an issue and it would be sorted out smoothly’, he remarked.
