The spirit of patriotism was vividly seen in the premises of St. Joseph’s Convent School, Idgah Hills, Bhopal, as the school organized a special series of activities in the school for all classes in continuation with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiated in the year 2022. Various themes were allotted to the class wise competitions to cover the diversity of cultures which finally lead to a unique unity rarely seen elsewhere in the world. The theme of this series of events was Cultural Integration of India.
Classes I & II presented poem in action based on the theme Wonders of India. Poems written by various poets, expressing the characteristics of the variety of languages, literature, religions, festivals, music, dance, cultures, traditions, folk art, natural landscapes etc. were presented by the young children through poetry along with actions. The message was clear that this great land was a welcome abode to all humanity, binding all of them into a feeling of brotherhood.
Classes III & IV presented tableaus depicting the rich culture of different states of India based on the theme Journey of Quest. Students dressed in the traditional dresses of the particular state depicted by them gave a vivid presentation of these states including the dresses, festivals, food, famous historical places and personalities, etc. the children, in their own innovative way, brought on the stage, a mini India in a span of two hours. Tableaus on Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Deccan, Gujarat, Assam, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Goa were tastefully presented by the classes.
Classes V & VI rocked the stage with rhythmic dances on the theme Sounds of Culture. Ethnic dances of different states like Chhattisgarh, Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat along with mythological and national themes like five elements, patriotism and the new face of new India were staged on foot tapping and serene music.
Classes VII and VIII went a step ahead in presenting skits on the theme Ethnic Diversity within the states. A kaleidoscope of the intricate ethnicity of the Indian states like Rajasthan, Assam, Bihar, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, along with the diversity in language, festivals, clothes, weddings, etc. were displayed through skits to depict the rich cultural heritage of India.
