Ensure maximum utilization of Narmada water: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Banks of religious importance existing along various rivers of the state including of Narmada river should be developed on priority basis. A special action plan should be prepared to ensure maximum utilization of Narmada water in the development of the state. Water should be made available to industries and agriculture by supplying Narmada water to the dams and other water structures of the state which fill naturally during the rainy season and their water is consumed by December. CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the 79th meeting of Narmada Control Board held at Mantralaya.

In the meeting, deliberations were held regarding the construction process of Upper Budhner Dam, Power House and pressurized irrigation system and the dam and pressurized irrigation system in Machhreva Irrigation Project under Sher-Machhareva Major Project. Along with this, the progress in the construction of Morand-Ganjal Joint Irrigation Project, Kalisindh Lift Micro Irrigation Project, Bhikangaon Binjalwada Micro Irrigation Project, Jawar Micro Lift Irrigation Project, Narmada Kshipra Multipurpose Project, Chhipaner Micro Lift Irrigation Project, Amba Rodia, Balakwada, Chaundi Jamanya and Simrol Ambachandan Group Micro Irrigation Projects, Dhimarkheda Micro Lift Irrigation Project, from 104 km to 129 km of the right bank main canal of Bargi Diversion Project and Dahi Micro Lift Irrigation Project was reviewed.
