New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) The Delhi Village Development Board on Tuesday approved projects worth Rs 250 crore for the construction of new roads in the villages of the national capital.
“Emphasis will be laid on the construction of roads in the villages of Delhi, in this meeting today the board approved projects related to new roads worth Rs 250 crores,” Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai said while chairing a meeting of the Village Development Board today at the Delhi Secretariat.
“To ensure development in the villages, the Delhi Village Development Board has approved schemes worth Rs1000 crore so far in 2023-2024. Under this, development works related to roads, drains, water bodies, community centres, parks, crematoriums, sports grounds etc. are being done,” the Minister said.
He further added that till the last meeting, 564 projects worth about Rs 759 crore were approved in 2023-2024. Under this, development works are being done in 194 villages of Delhi.
A task force has been constituted for weekly monitoring of development projects in villages. In which Village Development Board, MCD and officers of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department will be included, he said.
During the board meeting, all officers concerned have been instructed to complete the projects of village development within the time limit.
