Youth dies of drowning in Kerwa river

Bhopal: A youth died due to drowning in Kerwa river in Bhopal. He had come with two girls. A girl’s pet dog started flowing with the flow of the river. The girls jumped into the river to save him. To save them the young man also jumped into the river. Both the girls and their pet dog came back safely, but the young man drowned. He was a M. Tech student from MANIT Bhopal.

ASI Antram Yadav of Ratibadh police station said that 23-year-old Saral Nigam, son of Sudhir Nigam, was an M Tech student at MACT College (Maulana Azad College of Technology). He passed out in the same year. He lived in Sagar Garden Colony, Chuna Bhatti, Bhopal. Went out for a walk with the girls around 9:30 on Wednesday morning. Girls’ pet dog was with them. While crossing the river the dog started flowing. Then the accident happened. The case is being investigated.

To save the dog the youth jumped into the water. Both the girls also jumped after him. After some time the girls somehow reached the shore. The dog also came out of the water. But when the youth did not turn up, dial 100 was informed. Divers who reached the spot took out the body after searching for 3 hours in 10 feet deep water.

When the body was taken out, there were wound marks on his face. It is being told that this may have happened due to hitting a stone or getting stuck in the bushes.
