We performed well, our aim was to stop BJP & we achieved it: AAP

New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) After failing to secure a single seat in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday said that it performed significantly better compared to the last General elections and managed to achieve its goal of stopping the BJP from gaining ground in Punjab and Chandigarh.

Addressing the media, AAP leader Sandeep Pathak said, “Through results of the Lok Sabha election, the people of the country have made it clear that they will not tolerate any kind of dictatorship and hooliganism.”

“On one hand, BJP put in all its efforts. Even after that, it could not get a majority. On the other hand, INDIA bloc fought the elections in such adverse conditions and performed so well,” Pathak said.

Highlighting that the country is more crucial to them than the party, Pathak said, “We fought the elections together with strength. Our party is strong and is ready to fight for the country.”

“AAP performed much better than the last Lok Sabha elections. If you compare the results of the Lok Sabha elections with the results of the assembly elections, we have got fewer votes, but we have succeeded in our goal. Our aim was to stop BJP,” he said.

“We stopped BJP in Punjab and Chandigarh. We will work even harder in the coming time and bring good results,” the AAP leder said.

This election was not of Aam Aadmi Party but of INDI alliance. In this, it was not us but the country that was important, he said, claiming that the party faced many difficulties and its leaders and workers used to get threats.

Expressing gratitude to the party workers and supporters, Pathak said, “The country is important to us and we fought to save the country. Even in such difficult circumstances, our workers, leaders and colleagues fought.”

“We had expected even better results in these elections. Although the results were not as expected. But we worked very hard everywhere and the public gave us love and blessings,” Pathak added.
