Says she doesn’t trust exit poll
Bhopal: Uma Bharti, the former Chief Minister and outspoken BJP leader, said she doesn’t trust exit polls.
“They predict that a party will win between 112 and 130 seats (out of 230 seats in MP). Now, if that party gets 112 seats and loses elections, the exit pollsters claim they have proved right. But if that party gets 120 seats and wins, the exit polls claim their prediction was right,” she claimed.
“So exit polls are two sides of the same coin. I do not rely on them,” she added.
Umahas taken a bold stance against her own government in Madhya Pradesh. While the entire political spectrum eagerly awaits the release of exit poll results, Uma Bharti, known for her fiery demeanor, has launched a scathing attack on the Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in connection with the prevailing issues of illegal mining and the liquor trade in the state.
In a press conference, the senior BJP leader accused those in the government of being the main culprits behind the surge in illegal mining, the liquor mafia, and the electricity mafia. She emphasized that her concerns transcended any specific state and warned the BJP that controlling party expenses was crucial to avoiding a fate similar to Congress in 2003.
Uma Bharti urged the party to follow in the footsteps of leaders like Kushabhau Thackeray, Rajmata Scindia, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and L.K. Advani.
Uma wishes for Modi’s continued tenure
Expressing her admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uma Bharti wished for his continued tenure, citing the absence of corruption allegations against ministers over the past decade as a significant achievement.
Recalling a past complaint from PM Modi about her lack of support during a crisis, she assured PM Modi that he wouldn’t face a crisi, and if he did, she would be the first to stand by him.
Uma to take a stand against illegal mining
Uma Bharti’s discontent echoes her previous agitation against the government concerning the operation of liquor shops in the state. Reflecting on her past actions, she stated that throwing a stone at a liquor bottle was considered a crime, and now she intends to take a stand against illegal mining.
Planning to discuss the matter privately with the Chief Minister after the government is formed, Uma reiterated her commitment to seeking justice for the daughter of Prasanna Singh, who lost his life in Shahdol.
