There should be concrete efforts to make bodies self-reliant

Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has said that there is a need to prepare a concrete action plan to make the 413 urban bodies of the state financially self-reliant.

He said that the employees associated with urban bodies should continue to get regular salaries. Effective efforts should be made for this also. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya was addressing the meeting of officials of Urban Development and Housing Department in Bhopal on Thursday. Principal Secretary of the department Neeraj Mandloi was also present on this occasion. In the state, 16 Municipal Corporations, 99 Municipality Councils, 298 Municipal Councils are working for the development of urban areas.

Urban Development Minister Vijayvargiya said that there is a need to pay special attention to environmental improvement in urban areas. For this, he stressed on developing city forest with public participation.

He said that an e-library can be started for the purpose of providing educational help to the youth in urban areas.
