Bhopal: In accordance with the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to take strict action against sand mafias, under the direction of Collector Shri Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi in Betul, Mineral, Revenue and Police Department have taken action against sand mafias in the past few days and registered many mineral cases and also registered criminal cases.
By promptly hearing the mineral case registered against sand mafias, Additional Collector Betul has resolved the cases of sand mafias and on June 5, 2024, under Rule 18 (6) of Madhya Pradesh Mineral (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules 2022, took action to impose a penalty of one billion 37 crores in total four cases and confiscate 02 Pokelins and one JCB worth one crore 25 lakhs under Rule 22.
According to the decision passed by the Additional Collector, if the penalty imposed on the sand mafia is not deposited within 07 days, then under the provision of Madhya Pradesh Land Revenue Code 1959, the movable and immovable property of the sand mafia will be confiscated and the imposed penalty will be recovered like the outstanding land revenue.
