Severe cold hits many dists, visibility reduced due to dense fog

The weather of all the districts of the state remains mainly dry. It was a very cold day in Khajuraho and Naugaon and Datia of Chhatarpur district. Due to dense fog, visibility reduced to 50 to 200 meters in Khajuraho, Tikamgarh, Gwalior, Damoh and Mandla. At the same time, western disturbance has become active in the state. It was cloudy at many places. There is a possibility of rain in Sagar, Rewa, Gwalior and Chambal divisions in the coming days.

There was an increase in the minimum temperature in the state on Monday. The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.5 degree Celsius in Kalyanpur of Shahdol district, 9 in Chhatarpur of Khajuraho, 9.02 in Sidhi, 9.4 in Rewa, 9.5 degree Celsius in Datia.

Datia was among the five lowest maximum temperature cities of the state, where the maximum temperature fell to 13.7 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 13.8 degrees Celsius in Gwalior, 14.6 in Khajuraho, 16.1 in Prithvipur of Niwari and 16.1 degrees Celsius in Naugaon of Chhatarpur.

Dense fog warning

Meteorologists have also issued a warning of cold wave on Tuesday. Gwalior, Datia, Satna, Chhatarpur districts may experience intense cold days, while Chambal division’s districts and Shivpuri, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Panna may experience cool days. Visibility may reduce to between 50 meters to 500 meters in the districts of Rewa division and Vidisha, Raisen, Bhopal, Gwalior, Sagar, Mandsaur. The Meteorological Department has issued an outlook of further rise in minimum temperatures in the coming days.
