Mumbai, July 2 (UNI) Thev BSE Sensex on Tuesday ended negative at 79441.45, declining 34.74 pts on profit booking by local operators.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 18.10 pts to 24,123.85.
Registering an all time high on Monday, the BSE Sensex on Tuesday opened on a strong note at 79,840.37, gaining 364 pts. During the day it was rallied 379 pts at 79,855.87, days high.
In late trade, it was slipped 245 pts at 79,231.11, days low before closing at 79,441.45, sliding 34.74 pts from its last close.
Stocks that dragged the market were Telecommunications by 1.31 pc, FMCG by 0.67 pc and Bankex by 0.91 pc.
The NSE registered days high and low at 24,236.35 and 23,056.40 pts respectively.
In 30 scrips, 12 advanced while 18 declined.
The Mid cap fell 0.57 pc while Small cap by 0.07 pc.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 2.38 pc to Rs 1418.55, Kotak Bank by 2.16 pc to Rs 1769.60, Tata Motors by 2.07 pc to Rs 980.95 and IndusInd bank by 1.89 pc to Rs 1429.60.
The gainers were L& T by 2.74 pc to Rs 3624.25, Infosys by 1.97 pc to Rs 1621, HDFC Bank by 1.51 pc to Rs 1730.55 and TCS by 4005.05.
