Mumbai, Sep 17 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained 96 points to open at 83,084.63 as buying was seen in FMCG, financial services, and technology stocks.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 18.35 pts to 25,402.10.
The Sensex registered intra and high and low at 83,128.78 and 82,866.68 pts, respectively.
The NSE registered days high and low at 25,416.90 and 24,352.25 pts, respectively.
The stocks that lifted the market were FMCG, financial services, and technology stocks.
The midcap eased 0.09 pc and mall cap by 0.04 pc.
In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.
The gainers were Kotak Bank by 0.94 pc to Rs 1849.40, Bajaj Finance by 0.73 pc to Rs 7396, Bharti Airtel by 0.69 pc to Rs 1646.65, and M&M by 0.62 pc to Rs 2774.
The losers were Tata Motors by 1.92 pc to Rs 969.20, Adani Ports by 0.95 pc to Rs 1426.40, Maruti Suzuki by 0.73 pc to Rs 12200, and Tata Steel by 0.71 pc to Rs 183.10.
