PM Modi inaugurates Dwarka Expressway in Haryana

New Delhi, March 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 112 road projects worth about Rs One lakh crore, including Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, Haryana.

The 8-lane segment of the Dwarka Expressway, spanning 19 km and constructed at a cost of Rs 4,100 crore.

It aims to improve traffic flow and ease congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on the National Highway (NH)-48.

The two other packages of 10.2 km long Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and 8.7 km long Basai ROB to Kherki Daula were also inaugurated by Modi.

It will also provide direct connectivity to the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.

Addressing an event in Gurugram, the PM asserted that the country has taken another big step towards modern connectivity, adding, that the modern expressway will work to shift gears not only in vehicles but also in the lives of the people of Delhi NCR.

“I am glad that today, I have got the opportunity to dedicate Dwarka Expressway to the nation. An amount worth over Rs. 9,000 crore has been spent on the entire stretch of the project” Modi said.

He added, “Today onwards, the experience of transportation between Delhi and Haryana will transform forever”.

The Prime Minister said , “This modern expressway will not only ‘shift gears’ in the vehicles, but also in the lives of the people of Delhi NCR”.

Modi said, “The rapid infrastructure construction work going on in the country will equally quickly make India the third largest economic power in the world”.

Hitting out at the Congress Party, he said “Congress and INDIA Alliance are afraid of the pace at which development is being undertaken in the country”.

“When I inaugurate developmental projects, they call it the ‘Chunavi strategy’. …Negativity, and only negativity, is the true characteristic of Congress” the PM said.
