The phone conversation comes as the Australian PM travels to Tonga from Aug 27 to 29 for the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders’ Meeting, where regional security is a key topic.

India’s Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita will be travelling to Tonga to attend the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders’ Meeting with Dialogue Partners. India is a Dialogue Partner of the PIF.

It is India’s first ever participation at Ministerial level in the PIF Meetings.
