- Asian Junior Canoe Sprint U-23 Championship Thailand: Kayaking-Canoeing player Naresh selected in Indian team in BRICS Game-2024
Bhopal: Asian Junior Canoe Sprint Championship-2024 was organized in Thailand from 14 to 16 June. In the competition, the players of Sports Academy made the country proud by winning 4 medals including one gold, 2 silver and one bronze by performing brilliantly in kayaking-canoeing.
In this competition held in Thailand, former player of Sports Academy Arjun Singh won a gold medal in Junior C-1 500 m. event, and a silver medal in Junior C-1 1000 m. event. At the same time, the pair of Arvind Verma and Harsh won the silver medal in the Junior C-2 1000 m event, the pair of Prince Goswami and Sudhir Kumar won the bronze medal in the Junior C-2 500 m event. All the three players who won silver and bronze medals are currently players of the Sports Academy.
Teams from Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Chinese-Taipei, India, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Tajikistan and Singapore participated in the competition.
Naresh selected in Indian team for BRICS Game-2024
Sports Academy player Naresh has been selected in the Indian team for the C-2 event. Naresh has left for Russia. The competition is to be held in Kazan, Russia from 19 to 23 June 2024.
Players made a courtesy call on Director Sports
Director Sports took detailed information about the competition from the players. During the courtesy call, Romania’s coach Condrate Peter and Captain Pijush Kanti Baroi gave detailed information about the competition. Director Sports expressed happiness over the achievement of the players and encouraged them. Joint Director Sports B.S. Yadav and Academy in-charge Shipra Srivastava were present.
