Chandigarh, Dec 7 (UNI) Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Dakha and human rights lawyer Harvinder Singh Phoolka on Saturday announced that he would be joining the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
Phoolka, in a video statement, said that the Punjab needs a local party, which could work for the state and could raise state’s issues and SAD fulfils the criteria adding that that’s why he has decided to join a regional party. He said that National Parties focus on Central issues and do not listen to demands of states.
Phoolka said that as soon as a membership campaign is started by SAD, he would go to the party’s office and fill up the membership form. He said that there was a need to bring back the old Akali Dal, re-establish its core values and strengthen it.
