People have reposed their faith in BJP and NDA for the third time: PM Modi

New Delhi, (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday termed the NDA victory in the Lok Sabha election as a victory of world largest democracy, saying people have reposed their faith in the BJP and NDA for the third time.

Addressing party workers at BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Modi said “Today is a very auspicious day and the NDA is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. We are all thankful to the public for this.

He further said, “People of the nation have reposed their faith in the BJP and the NDA, and our victory is the win of the world’s biggest democracy”.

In his first speech after the result of Lok Sabha election, the PM said, “Today’s victory is the victory of unwavering loyalty to the Constitution of India, it is the victory of the mantra of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, it is the victory of 140 crore Indians”.

He highlighted that this is the first time after 1962 that a government after completing two terms has returned to power for the third consecutive time.

Modi mentioning the names of TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and congratulated them for tremendous performance in their respective states.

“The NDA has also swept the states – Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh – where Assembly elections were held. The Congress has been wiped out in these states.

The BJP for the first time will form the government in Odisha. It has also performed exceptionally well in Lok Sabha polls in Odisha,” said the Prime Minister.

Attacking the I.N.D.I.A bloc, he said, “Even if our opponents were united, they could not win as many seats as BJP alone has won in this Lok Sabha election”.

“I would like to tell the BJP workers present in every corner of the country, your hard work, your sweat in this heat inspires Modi to work continuously” he added.

Recalling the Congress rule before 2014, “Ten years ago, the country gave us a mandate for change. That was the time when the country had sunk into the depths of despair”.

Modi also thanked the Election Commission of India for organising a successful election, which created a world record with 64.2 crore voters, including 31.2 crore women, participating.

“This was my first election since my mother had passed away. India’s mothers and daughters didn’t let me feel her absence”, the Prime Minister said.
