Outsource employees urge CM to convene Mahapanchayat

Bhopal: Manoj Bhargava, State Convener of All Department Outsourced Joint Struggle Front, met CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan at Hotel Taj on Bhopal-Bhadbhada Road Saturday night and urged him to call a Panchayat of 2.5 lakh outsourced workers. Bhargava said that on this the CM assured to take action.

On this occasion, Shri Bhargava, apart from the Chief Minister, met Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Shri Prahlad Patel, BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, former Chief Minister Ms. Uma Bharti, Ministers Narottam Mishra and Vishwas Sarang and said that – ‘All Mahapanchayats have been called, but the mahapanchayat of 2.5 lakh outsourced workers of MP has not taken place yet. In comparison to Central’s outsourced workers, MP’s outsourced workers are getting half the salary, whereas under Section 3 of the Minimum Wages Act 1948, there is a provision to increase the minimum wages of MP’s outsourced workers every 5 years, but even after 7 years, the minimum wage has not been revised.

Bhargava said that just as the Chief Minister has doubled the monthly salary of Employment Assistants, Kotwar and guest teachers, in the same way the monthly salary of outsourced staff should be doubled and made at par with the outsourced ones from the Centre.

On this, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and others assured that they will soon discuss with the CM about calling a Mahapanchayat of outsourced workers.
