Odisha ex-CM Gamang, three others rejoin Cong

New Delhi Jan 17 (UNI) After quitting the Congress party in 2015, former Odisha Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang on Wednesday rejoined the grand old party along with three other leaders of the state.

Giridhar Gamang along with his wife Hema Gamang and son Shishir Gamang and Sanjay Bhoi joined back the party in presence of Odisha incharge Ajoy Kumar and senior party leader Ajay Maken here.

Speaking on the occasion, the nine time MP from Koraput said that he was feeling rejoiced on returning to the Congress.

While thanking the former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Gamang said that 11 times the Congress party gave him ticket which no other party can do and nine times he represented Koraput.

He said that the Congress is the only party that gives respect to all and follows the politics of principle. It does not make any difference to Congress who goes and comes as the party is above all.

He also praised the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra undertaken by Rahul Gandhi and said that his yatra was constitutional and not political and added that he will work and take the purpose of the yatra to the people.

Welcoming the Gamang family, Ajay Maken said that Giridhar Gamang had been a great tribal leader who earned respect from all caste and his induction into the party will be a big boost ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
