Like every year, this year also Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board participated in the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) going on in Goa. The beauty of Madhya Pradesh was discussed in IFFI. While sharing his shooting experience in Madhya Pradesh, famous artist Pankaj Tripathi said that it seems as if Chanderi city was built 400-500 years ago only for the purpose of film shooting. Everything is built like an attractive movie set, where people live. Beautiful architects and nice people. There is a very warm welcome and enjoyment. He also thanked Tourism and Culture Principal Secretary Shiv Shekhar Shukla for making the film shooting system and arrangements smooth. Pankaj Tripathi has done films named Stree in Chanderi, Sui Dhaaga and Janhit Mein Jaari. During the International Film Festival, Principal Secretary Shukla met Pankaj Tripathi, Raj Kumar Santoshi, Vijay Sethupathi, Divya Dutta and many other famous Bollywood artists, filmmakers, producers and directors and invited them for film production in the state. Shukla highlighted the key points of the film policy of Madhya Pradesh, which included a policy aimed at developing a conducive environment for film and web series producers, financial incentives, ease and transparency in permissions, natural beauty, better connectivity, favorable weather and includes state-of-the-art filming facilities etc. Film infrastructure and employment creation are also major objectives. Yuvraj Padole, Deputy Director (Films) of the Tourism Board, gave information about the film tourism policy to the stakeholders present at the event through a presentation.

To encourage the stakeholders associated with the film industry for film shooting in the state and to make them aware of the facilities and concessions provided under the Film Tourism Policy, the Board organized a meeting on the topic ‘Promotion of Film Production in Madhya Pradesh – Government Initiatives and Role of Stakeholders’. A knowledge series was also organized. In this, Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Shiv Shekhar Shukla, actor Pankaj Tripathi, actress, producer, CBFC board member Vani Tripathi, film producer and writer Amit Rai participated as key speakers. The moderator was producer Dheer Momaya.

Film policy of Madhya Pradesh

Permissions for film projects are included in the Public Service Guarantee Act. There is a provision for permission for film shooting in 15 working days. To implement the film tourism policy at the district level, ADM level officers are appointed as nodal officers for granting filming permission in every district. The grant includes web series, original content, TV serials and documentaries.
