MP: BJP manifesto contains a promise for every segment

Bhopal, Nov 11 (UNI) Sparing no arrow from its political quiver in an attempt to penetrate rival armour on battleground Madhya Pradesh, the state’s ruling BJP released its Assembly election manifesto a day before Diwali with alluring promises for womenfolk, the impoverished, the peasantry, youth, pupils, the tribes and other brackets of the populace.

The document, running into more than 90 pages, was released here by party National President Jagat Prakash Nadda in the presence of a galaxy of saffron camp leaders including Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s countenance has been highlighted.

In addition to extension of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for half a decade further; pulses, mustard oil and sugar shall be provided at concessional rates to beneficiaries. Ryots will continue to receive Rs 12,000 per annum under the Kisan Samman Nidhi. Wheat shall be purchased at Rs 2,700 per quintal and the corresponding figure for paddy will be Rs 3,100.

The Mukhya Mantri Jan Awas Yojana shall complement the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for the underprivileged. Dwellings will also be provided to those registered under the Ladli Behna Yojana. Special training and skill development shall be undertaken to enhance the income of rural women. A sum of Rs 4,000 will be paid against every standard sack of tendu leaf.

Either jobs or self-employment shall be ensured for at least one member of each household. Poverty-stricken families’ children will receive free education until the higher-secondary level. Nutritious breakfast shall be provided at government schools in addition to midday meals. Every administrative division will boast technology and medical sciences institutes whose standard shall match that of Indian Institute of Technology and All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
