Srinagar, July 25 (UNI) Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday alleged that the Narendra Modi government has not been able to change anything in Jammu and Kashmir as the Union Territory continues to be the target of United States State Department travel advisories.
Omar was reacting to a report of the Department of State of the US government, which has urged Americans in India to ‘avoid’ travelling to some parts of the country, including the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
“In asking US citizens to not visit Jammu and Kashmir, the advisory points to ‘terrorist attacks’ and ‘violent civil unrest,’ as well as ‘sporadic violence’ between the Indian and Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC),” Omar said in a post on X while quoting the advisory report.
Omar taunted the Modi government over this US advisory despite his government’s talk of normalcy, peace, tourism, and hosting the G-20 meeting.
“ So much for ‘naya J&K’. For all the talk of normalcy, peace, tourism & the G-20 tamasha in Srinagar, J&K remains the target of US State Department travel advisories. The Modi government has been able to change nothing,” Omar said.
