“Mera Naam Khadi” fashion show organized by NIFT students

Bhopal: Khadi Fashion Show was organized at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhopal during Khadi Mahotsav. It was the first festival to be held in the auditorium of NIFT. This auditorium was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by NIFT Director Lieutenant Colonel Ashish Aggarwal and his wife. The main attraction of the show was the Bollywood theme which was divided into two parts, one draping and the other stitching in which the children displayed their amazing arts.

A total of 34 students did modeling and 30 designers designed the dresses themselves. The show saw students showcase their modeling skills by replicating key Bollywood images in the new look of Khadi. The directors of the show presented it as a journey that showcases Indian cinema and Indian fashion trends. Indian Textiles is an attempt to connect with the Gulf. The objective of this entire show was to promote the words of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi “One Nation One Fashion”.

Vanshika Srivastava, a student at Nifty, said, “I participated in a fashion show for the first time and I really enjoyed participating because I got to learn a lot of new things and also got a chance to promote my Indian textile line.

At the end of the fashion show, the Director of NIFT honored his assistants Digvijay Singh and Utpal Pathak with the award because in a few days they made the auditorium under construction so efficient that a big festival like Khadi Mahotsav could be held there.

NIFT’s musical band Rutbaaz concluded the show with some melodious old songs. Along with these melodious songs, the students promised that more such new fashion shows will keep coming.
