- Ujjayini resonates with the auspicious sound of Damru playing, along with it a world record was made
Bhopal: Baba Mahakal’s third procession was taken out with faith, enthusiasm and excitement. Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar went on a city tour in the form of Shri Chandramouleshwar in a palanquin, in the form of Shri Manmahesh on an elephant and in the form of Shri Shiv-Tandav on Garuda chariot and inquired about the condition of his subjects. During this, 1500 Damru players made a Guinness Book of World Record by playing Damru simultaneously. Before the procession of the Lord started, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Deora and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput duly worshipped the Lord in the Sabha Mandap of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple and joined the procession. On this occasion, MLA Shri Satish Malviya, MLA Shri Mahesh Parmar, Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav and other public representatives were present in the Sabha Mandap. The armed police force personnel saluted the Lord seated in the palanquin at the main gate of the temple.
Baba set out on a tour with Damru players
Lord Shiva was worshipped with the auspicious sound of Damru playing in Baba Mahakal’s procession. The Damru players enthralled the devotees by giving an attractive and captivating performance in a rhythmic form together. It is worth mentioning that the third Monday of Shravan was historic for Ujjain. 1500 Damru players created a world record by playing Damru together at the same time on the Shaktipath of Mahakal Lok. Devotees of Baba Shri Mahakal participated in the procession with joy and enthusiasm and welcomed the Damru players.
Amazing presentation of the famous Kathi dance of Nimar region
The charming presentation of the folk dance Kathi of Nimar region was the centre of attraction in Baba Mahakal’s procession. This presentation related to Lord Shankar and Mata Gauri captivated all the devotees. Folk artists gave an attractive performance with the main Dhak musical instrument in eye-catching colourful costumes decorated with peacock feathers. As Baba Mahakal’s procession moved forward, Bhajan Mandals enthusiastically and excitedly performed melodious renditions of Shiva Bhajans.
Indradev also performed Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakal at Ramghat
As soon as the procession of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar left the Mahakal temple and reached Ramghat, a flood of people of faith and devotion surged all around. Spreading its beauty in Shravan, nature itself appeared eager to welcome Lord Shri Mahakal. Indradev also performed Jalabhishek of the Lord along with the priests. The worship and Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakaleshwar was performed by Pt. Ashish Pujari. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Deora and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput also offered worship to the Lord at Ram Ghat. On this occasion, public representatives and administrative officers including Rajya Sabha MP Shri Umeshnath Ji Maharaj were present.
