Livestock plays key role in the all-round development of rural areas : Patel

Bhopal, Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that livestock contributes significantly to the all-round development of rural areas. Self-reliance can be achieved through animal husbandry. Giving information about the use and importance of Panchagavya, he said that serving mute creatures and animals is a virtuous act.

Governor was addressing the seventh convocation of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur today held under the chairmanship of Governor and Chancellor Shri Patel. On this occasion, Governor Shri Patel garlanded the statue of Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh and also planted a sapling in the courtyard.

Governor Shri Patel said that all students should take inspiration from Nanaji’s life journey and imbibe the spirit of social service in their lives. He appreciated the work of the state’s only Veterinary Science University run on the ideals of Nanaji in Sanskardhani. The wildlife conservation and disease diagnosis research work being done in the university was described as exemplary. Governor Shri Patel said that the convocation pledge should always be remembered. Follow the oath in the service of society and the nation. He congratulated all the degree awarded students.

Inspected the girls’ hostel

Governor Shri Patel visited the Narmada Girls Hostel located in the university campus and took stock of the arrangements for cleanliness, water, kitchen etc., gave necessary instructions. Governor Shri Patel also had a cordial discussion with the girl students. Governor Shri Patel released the convocation souvenir. He also observed the exhibition of the works of various units of the university.

Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Shri Patel said that this is an important milestone in the life of the students who have received the degree today and taken the oath to work for the progress of society and the nation. He said that we should try to treat mute animals by understanding their problems and trying to solve them. In the program, Vice Chancellor Dr. Mandeep Sharma presented the details of the university’s progress. Public representatives, Vice Chancellors of various universities, students and parents were present in the convocation ceremony.
