Interpol’s help sought to bring back Prajwal facing sexual assault allegations

Bengaluru, May 5 (UNI) Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara disclosed on Sunday that a Blue Corner notice has been issued and Interpol’s assistance sought to repatriate Prajwal Revanna, the NDA candidate for the Hassan Lok Sabha seat.

Prajwal is currently facing accusations of sexual harassment.

A Blue Corner Notice, issued by the international police cooperation body, is aimed at gathering additional information from member countries regarding a person’s identity, location, or activities related to a crime.

Dr Parameshwara stated that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been entrusted with the task of probing the sex scandal and will chart out the necessary steps to bring Prajwal back to India.

“The Blue Corner notice has already been issued. Interpol will disseminate information to all countries to locate him,” Dr Parameshwara informed reporters in Bengaluru.

He further lauded the SIT’s efforts in investigating the case, emphasising that the team has meticulously adhered to legal protocols based on the received complaints. He pointed to the recent arrest of Prajwal’s father, HD Revanna, in connection with an abduction case related to sexual abuse allegations.

Revanna, a JDS MLA, is facing charges of molestation and kidnapping. He was apprehended by the SIT on Saturday following the dismissal of his anticipatory bail plea by a local court.

The sexual abuse case, which involves explicit video clips allegedly depicting the 33-year-old Prajwal, grandson of JDS patriarch and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, has sparked controversy in Hassan.

Consequently, the state government formed the SIT to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations against the MP.
