IMD predicts dry weather in many parts of India for next 4-5 days

New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dry weather across the Northwest and adjoining Central and East India for the next 4-5 days following rainfall in these regions on Monday.

Under the influence of western disturbance, light to moderately isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places is very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on February 5 and dry weather thereafter. Isolated hailstorm activity is also very likely over Uttarakhand on February 5, the IMD said.

According to IMD, light isolated rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh on February 5 and dry weather thereafter.

Light to moderately scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and snowfall were very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, and isolated to scattered rainfall was over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura from February 5 to 7, and over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar on February 5, the IMD said.

Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall were very likely over Arunachal Pradesh on February 5, it said, adding, “Isolated thunderstorms accompanied by hail were also very likely over Sikkim on February 5.”
