Shimla, Jan 9 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday dismissed the recall applications of Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu and Kangra Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri.
A Division bench of Chief Justice MS Ramachandran Rao and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua dismissed the two recall applications last after hearing both the parties.
The court directed the authorities to form a SIT to investigate the case and give protection to complainant Nishant Kumar Sharma and his family members.
On November 11, 2023, the High court took Suo moto notice of an email complaint filed by a businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma, alleging a threat to his life from influential individuals. In
the complaint he had also accused the State DGP for the alleged criminal intimidation.
After hearing on December 26, 2023, a Division bench of Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua directed the Home Secretary to shift both the Police officers to ensure a fair probe into the complain.
Later on January 2, Kundu was transferred to the post of Principal Secretary (Ayush) .
