Mercury plummets across state; fog engulfs city

Bhopal: It rained heavily in Madhya Pradesh in several dists on Friday morning. There was heavy rain in the capital Bhopal from four in the morning for about three and a half hours. Earlier on Thursday evening also there was heavy rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in many districts.

Fog in many dists

There was moderate fog in Bhopal, but there is dense fog in many other cities including Gwalior and will remain so in future also. Earlier on Thursday, there was heavy rain in districts like Raisen, Tikamgarh, Harda, Chhatarpur etc. including the capital Bhopal. After the rain, the day temperature of Bhopal dipped to 16.7 degrees Celsius. According to IMD, the cold is going to be more severe in MP.

While the weather remained cold and foggy in the city, people gathered at popular picnic spots like Upper Lake, Boat Club etc to enjoy the cold weather.

Below normal night temps likely

According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), most of the districts are likely to have below normal minimum temperatures. All district administrations and all concerned departments should take seriously the possible outbreak of cold wave in the state and take all necessary steps at the departmental and district level to reduce the damage caused by it. The Home Department has issued detailed guidelines in this regard.

According to meteorologists, the weather is expected to remain like this for the next three days. The weather has deteriorated due to Western Disturbance.

Gwalior was coldest

Gwalior was the coldest in the state. The maximum temperature recorded here on Thursday was 14.5 degrees and the minimum temperature was 7.9 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 14.7 degrees in Bhopal, 15.0 degrees in Indore, 15.6 degrees in Jabalpur and 15.5 degrees in Ujjain.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 16.6 degrees in Khajuraho, 16.6 degrees in Sagar, 17.6 degrees in Damoh, 17.8 degrees in Satna, 17.8 degrees in Raisen, 18.4 degrees in Guna, 19.2 degrees in Rewa and 19.8 degrees in Pachmarhi. In this way, the maximum day temperature in a total of 13 districts was less than 20 degrees. The highest temperature was recorded at 26.8 degrees in Khargone.

Rain has been predicted in Bhopal, Shahdol, Sagar division along with Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Narmadapuram, Betul, Khandwa, Ujjain, Dewas, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Indore, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Guna, Ashoknagar etc. districts. . There will be dense fog in Gwalior, Chambal division along with Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Bhopal, Sehore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neemuch districts.

Rain and cold increased problems in these districts

After heavy rains in Raisen on Thursday night, low lying settlements were flooded, heavy rains occurred in Bhopal and Raisen on Thursday night. There is fog in Gwalior. It rained heavily in Barwani. It rained in Harda at night and the streets were filled with water. There was light rain in Bhopal at night and fog in the morning. There was rainfall in Tikamgarh. It is raining in Chhatarpur on Friday morning.
