Friends’ star Matthew Perry dies

Moscow, Oct 29 (UNI) American-Canadian actor Matthew Perry from the US TV sitcom “Friends” has died at 54 after an apparent drowning, TMZ reported, citing law enforcement sources.

According to the report, the actor was found Saturday at an L.A.-area home after first-responders rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest.

Perry was found in a jacuzzi at his home. No drugs were found at the scene and there was no foul play involved, the sources said.

Later on Sunday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who was Perry’s classmate in elementary school in Ottawa, expressed condolences on the actor’s death.

“Matthew Perry’s passing is shocking and saddening. I’ll never forget the schoolyard games we used to play, and I know people around the world are never going to forget the joy he brought them. Thanks for all the laughs, Matthew. You were loved – and you will be missed,” Trudeau wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Perry’s mother Suzanne Marie Morrison worked as a press secretary of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, the father of the country’s current leader, the People magazine reported.
