Srinagar, May 8 (UNI) A fresh contact with a hiding militant was established in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district where two militants including a top TRF commander were killed a day earlier in a gun battle.
“Operation at Kulgam resumed, fresh firing started”, Jammu and Kashmir police post on X.
A joint team of forces on Wednesday continued searches at Redwani Payeen area of Kulgam as they had inputs about three militants in the house and out of them two including TRF commander Basit Dar were killed.
They said during the search operation of the area, the hiding militant fired upon the security forces search party and the fire was effectively retaliated.
Security forces have intensified the cordon around the encounter site when the firing took place, they said.

The gun battle erupted on Monday night at Redwani Payeen after security forces launched an operation in the area following an input about presence of militants.
