New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) Former Delhi Congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely, Former Minister in Delhi government Rajkumar Chauhan and former Congress leaders Neeraj Basoya and Amit Malik joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Saturday.
The four leaders joined the BJP at the BJP’s central office in the presence of party general secretary Vinod Tawde, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Delhi state BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and party’s national media in-charge Anil Baluni and co-in-charge Sanjay Mayukh.
On the occasion, Tawde welcomed the four leaders and said that while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is filing his nomination papers from Rae Bareli, these Delhi stalwarts are leaving the Congress and joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vikasit Bharat Abhiyan”
Hardeep Puri said that the stand taken by the four leaders on the liquor scam in Delhi is in the interest of the National Capital. But their old party did not care about this and formed an electoral alliance with the accused of the liquor scam.
“On this, Mr. Lovely, Chauhan, Mr. Basoya and Mr. Malik decided to leave the Congress. This is a matter of great courage” he added.
Puri said that these four leaders will play an active role in the BJP and their contribution will be taken in the development of Delhi and the country.
Lovely, is a four-time MLA, former president of Delhi Pradesh Congress and a cabinet minister for ten years in the Sheila Dikshit government in Delhi.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, Chauhan said that they will work under the leadership of Modi in the interest of the country.
