Bhopal: Digvijaya Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia, coincidentally selected the same day to formally enter the fray for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. Singh, a stalwart of the Congress party, lodged his candidacy from the Rajgarh Lok Sabha constituency, while Union Minister Scindia submitted his nomination papers from the Guna constituency on Tuesday afternoon.
Prior to filing his nomination, the seasoned Congress leader sought blessings at the Jalpa Mata temple, with the voting for both Rajgarh and Guna slated for phase 3 on May 7.
Conversely, Jyotiraditya Scindia conducted prayers at the Hanuman temple before proceeding with his nomination. The event drew the presence of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and state president VD Sharma, who all joined Scindia’s rally in Guna.
3 candidates file nomination from Morena
Morena: Nomination papers were filed today by candidates of three major parties from Morena-Sheopur parliamentary constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
According to official information, according to Collector and Returning Officer Ankit Asthana, today on April 16, Shivmangal Singh submitted nomination papers as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Apart from these, Satyapal Singh filed nomination as Indian National Congress Party and Ramesh Chandra Garg as Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate.
Now two days are left for nomination. Candidates or their proposers will now be able to submit nominations to the Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer on April 18 and 19 from 11 am to 3 pm.
Due to it being a government holiday, the process of nomination will be closed on 17th April. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 20th April. Nominations can be withdrawn till 3 pm on 22 April 2024. This process will be conducted from 11 am to 3 pm on all these days. Voting in Morena-Sheopur Lok Sabha constituency will take place on May 7 and counting of votes will take place on June 4.
