Delhi Transport Minister seeks report from DMRC on Gokulpuri Metro Station incident

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Thursday directed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to constitute experts committee to inquire about the Gokulpuri Metro Station incident and submit a report within two weeks.

He also asked DMRC to disburse ex-gratia compensation as per rules within 24 hours and provide medical assistance to the injured persons.

In a letter to DMRC MD Vikas Kumar, Gehlot said, “It has been noted with concern regarding the incident at Gokulpuri Metro Station where a part of the platform boundary wall collapsed and fell down on the road. It has further been informed that one person has died in the incident while four have been admitted with injuries.’

“It is directed to constitute a Committee of Experts which shall enquire into this incident and submit a report within two weeks,” he said.

DMRC shall disburse ex-gratia compensation as per rules within 24 hours,” the minister said, adding, “All necessary assistance shall be extended to the injured persons and their families to ensure proper medical treatment.”
