Delhi govt launches ‘Green War Room’ to monitor, implementation of Winter Action Plan

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Delhi Government launched ‘Green War Room’ for round the clock monitoring and implementation of Winter Action Plan.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that a team of 17 members consisting of scientists and engineers to look after Green War Room. “Green Delhi app is a combined platform of 28 departments of Delhi,” said Rai.

In a press conference held today, the Environment Minister said the massive success of the Delhi government’s efforts to curb pollution; in the last 8 years, PM10 levels and PM2.5 fell by 30 percent despite increasing population. The government received around 70,684 complaints received on Green Delhi App and 90 percent of complaints have been resolved to date. The government will launch an anti-dust campaign in Delhi from October 5.

Rai said, “We have been closely monitoring the air quality and stubble-burning situation in and around Delhi. We’ve been working on the Real Time Source Apportionment Study as well. To give a more hands-on approach and enable 24×7 monitoring of all our efforts we are starting the Green War Room from today.”
